Woman Declared Dead for 11 Minutes Came Back to Life, Claimed to Witness Heaven and Hell
There was no definite description of what hell and heaven looked like, but various people had their vivid details from near-death experiences. A woman in Texas added to this collection with her account of what she witnessed when she died for 11 minutes. The 68-year-old Charlotte Holmes was declared clinically dead during a routine heart check-up, according to the Medium. Her blood pressure rocketed unexpectedly, and she was informed by the doctor that she might be getting a stroke or a heart attack. Despite preventive measures being taken, her condition became worse, and she was legally declared dead when they could not find her pulse for 11 minutes.
Her husband, Danny, stated that her heart stopped twice, the time that was typically used to assess death. “Immediately, they call this code, and everybody started rushing in. They just started working on her, and I thought, if I'm even going to be able to bring her home,’ he commented, as per MailOnline. She began to describe things that were not in the room but that she was witnessing in reality, which was when he knew that she was not in this world. Holmes explained that she was experiencing things outside her body. She stood above herself and saw the doctors doing chest compressions and nurses helping to revive her when she smelled flowers and heard music.
“When I opened my eyes, I knew where I was. I knew I was in heaven,” Holmes stated as she witnessed everything swaying to the tune. Everything was beautiful, and she said that words could not describe the experience. Joy filled the place, and there were no signs of fear as she saw her mother, father, and sister standing beside her. She explained how there was “pure joy when the angels take over,” according to the Lad Bible. She also saw saints but was surprised to see them young and in their thirties instead of the old people description we were familiar with. She also saw a toddler she did not recognize, when God’s voice said that the toddler was her child.
"I lost that child. I was five-and-a-half months pregnant. I can remember them holding the baby up and saying, 'Charlotte, it's a boy.' Then he was gone. So when I saw this toddler, I said, 'God, how is that possible?' He said, 'They continue to grow in heaven - but there's no time; it's eternity." Holmes detailed her experience, according to Unilad. As she witnessed heavenly beauty, God also took her to hell as a warning. She was taken to the edge of hell, where she looked down and smelled rotten flesh along with screams, all of which were unbearable. She said that God showed this sight to warn people that if they did not change their ways, there were consequences.
She was sent back to life by her almighty Father in heaven so that she had time to spread this message. At this moment, she felt that she was going back to her body in the hospital bed and was coming back to life. Charlotte underwent a full recovery and was discharged from the hospital after two weeks, according to Indy100. She then went on to share her experience with the world and spread her story to as many people as possible. “People need hope,” she said. “They want to know that there really is something out there; they want to know that everything's OK,” she added. Heaven was more than anyone could imagine, and she was proud to say that it was real.
