A Minnesota man is accused of attacking his father with a hammer and then stabbing him to death, police said.

On Jan. 13, Anthony Jolson, 33, was alone with his 58-year-old father after his brother left the family’s Minneapolis home to go ice skating, KSTP-TV reported, citing a criminal complaint.

When the brother returned around 9 p.m., he found his sibling with blood specks on his forehead and their father unresponsive on the couch with severe injuries.

According to the complaint, the brother claimed to police Jolson said he “did something bad,” and allegedly admitted to a “surprise” or “sneak” attack on their father because “the devil made me do it.”

“It’s my nightmare,” Jolson allegedly told his sibling of the murder.
