A U.S. Navy sailor allegedly on a “crack bender” in Virginia is accused of using a dumbbell to bludgeon a man to death, authorities said.

According to court documents obtained by the station, shortly after 7:30 a.m. on March 11, Virginia Beach police responded to a call from an apartment complex and found Bryant dead.

Jablonski, who is assigned to Naval Station Norfolk, allegedly got into a fight with Bryant while on drugs and beat him in the face with a dumbbell and then pressed the weight against Bryant's neck until he stopped moving, court documents state.

The murder suspect, who had no previous criminal convictions, then allegedly dragged the victim’s body outside and fled to an area hotel, documents state.

According to the documents, police determined Heather Totty, 35, was also present at the time of the murder, and she was charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

Totty allegedly helped Jablonski drag Bryant’s body outside, clean up the scene, and collect the victim’s personal possessions in a bag, which was later recovered from a dumpster, the documents state.

WTKR reported Toddy’s has a prior criminal record that includes fraud, accessory, burglary and contempt.

Both Jablonski and Toddy were ordered held without bond for Bryant’s murder until a scheduled hearing.

The relationships between the victim and the two suspects in the case is unclear.

Jablonski’s neighbor, who was also a sailor, said he and the suspect got along well.

“We always called each other 'brother,' and he’s got a beautiful family,” Tyrone Hall told WTKR. “I thought he was a stellar Sailor, too, because I think he was doing really well in the Navy.”

“I’m terribly sorry something of this magnitude could happen,” Hall added.
