Two men in California have been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in connection with the death of a man who suddenly went missing in 2018 and hasn't been seen alive since.

A jury found Robert Manor and Victor Gray both guilty of first-degree murder and other charges on March 17 for the presumed death of Raymond White, KTXL reported.

According to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s office, the homicide was a revenge killing and White’s body was never found.

In 2011, Wright was behind the wheel of a vehicle when he caused a crash involving Manor and his wife. Both were seriously injured, and “Manor held a grudge against [Wright] for years,” the DA’s office said.

After Wright served time behind bars and completed parole for the crime, Manor hired Gray to carry out his “plan for revenge,” prosecutors said.

Wright, has not been seen alive since he vanished on Jan. 11, 2018. Police in Rocklin said the 55-year-old contractor vanished while on his way home from a job. His truck was found abandoned and missing its plates.

On Jan. 13, 2018, an uncle went to Wright’s home and scared off a burglar, later identified as the alleged hit man, Gray. Gray was later tied to Wright’s suspected slaying through DNA evidence left on a straw in Wright’s home as well as charred possessions, including a blood-soaked raincoat, belonging to Wright that were found inside Gray’s van, the DA’s office said.

Detectives also found a note from Gray to Manor, which, prosecutors said, detailed Gray’s irritation at “not being paid for ‘delivering dude’” and a request for help for the person “who hand delivered” him his “revenge.”
