A Florida man has been arrested after police say they found his grandparents beaten to death inside the home they shared.

On Feb. 22, deputies were called to the couple’s residence by family members who hadn’t heard from them in days, according to court documents obtained by WEAR.

Once at the Pensacola home, deputies said they found a “horrific scene.”

Officers said the couple, both in their 60s, were located in separate rooms dead from blunt force trauma.

Authorities identified 24-year-old Jordon King, who lived with his grandparents, as a person of interest and launched a search.

“Someone called and said, ‘I think I know where this person is,'" Sheriff Chip Simmons told WEAR. "He was on foot when we took him into custody without incident, and we brought him to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.”

A neighbor told the station, "It's very sad. It's very upsetting to know that happened to two nice people and I feel very bad about it."

King was charged with the murders and booked into the Escambia County Jail, officials said. He was being held without bond and was ordered to have no contact with his and the victims’ shared family members.

Court documents show King was released from jail on Feb. 15, after spending over two months behind bars for a December trespassing arrest.

That arrest came just days after he was released from a five-year prison sentence just this past November. He served time for burglary and grand theft charges that took place in November 2018 when King was 19 years old.

The arrest report states King broke into a home and stole a TV. He then pulled a gun on three people who picked him up in a car, not knowing he had just committed the theft.
