Florida man arrested for killing man following an argument, cops say

A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a man following an argument, police said.

On Sunday, the Tallahassee Police Department arrested Nathan Lewis, 38, following a fatal shooting that occurred on Jan. 1 in the 800 block of Okaloosa Street.

An investigation showed that the shooting was the result of an argument between Lewis and the victim, according to Tallahassee police.

Lewis shot the victim while he was standing outside of his vehicle, according to police.

When the victim re-entered the car to drive away, he then crashed into a nearby fence, according to police.

Lewis immediately fled the scene to a nearby residence, and the occupants called law enforcement because of his erratic behavior, cops say.

Life-saving measures were attempted, but the victim died of his injuries at the scene. The victim's name has not been released.

Detectives were able to quickly determine the man who entered the residence was linked to the shooting, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

Lewis has been charged with second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Investigators did not indicate what led to the argument.
