In October, Simon Quinton Went Missing In Georgia. His Mom Now Faces Murder Accusations.

The mom of a missing toddler has been arrested and accused of murder, police announced.

On Nov. 21, the Chatham County police in Georgia announced the arrest of 22-year-old Leilani Simon. She was charged with murder in connection to the death of her 20-month-old son Quinton Simon.

The toddler was reported missing from his home in early October.

That led to a massive manhunt and the case became a focus of True Crime followers. People worked to try and solve the case and find the child.

The mom was quickly identified as a suspect by many. Though police have not said what led them to believe she killed the child.

Now, she is being held in jail in connection to the case and police say they plan on releasing more detail soon. Authorities previously said they did not expect to find the child alive.

“We are deeply saddened by this case, but we are thankful that we are one step closer to justice for little Quinton,” police said in announcing the arrest.
