12-year-old boy killed in pharmacy shooting, suspects arrested

Shots were fired at a Kansas pharmacy on April 14, which led to the death of a 12-year-old boy.

Police have said they now have two suspects in custody.

When police arrived at the KARE Pharmacy in Leavenworth, Kansas, they found that multiple shots were fired at a black Volkswagen Jetta sedan by a suspect in the parking lot.

Police say one shot hit a red four-door sedan that was driving on the road near the area. The car was occupied by a 30-year-old woman driver and her 6-month-old daughter.

The suspects left the scene in a white Dodge Charger sedan, according to police.

While police investigated the scene, the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department informed them that a shooting victim arrived at Children’s Mercy Hospital in a black Volkswagen Jetta.

The victim, a 12-year-old boy, was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.

Detectives say they got descriptions of three suspects and their vehicle during the investigation. They located the vehicle, then made contact with the occupants of the home.

Three suspects were detained, and two have been charged with connection with the case.

Darvon Thomas, 25, has been charged with first-degree felony murder, according to KCTV 5.

The other suspect is a 17-year-old who was charged with felony murder and discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle. Kansas doesn’t allow the names of minor suspects to be released.
