Maryland senior living facility resident allegedly shoots dead two female employees

A Maryland senior living facility resident is accused of grabbing his gun and fatally shooting two female employees following an alleged confrontation, police said.
On Oct. 8 around 9:15 a.m., Roy Batson, 63, allegedly gunned down Mackeda Evans and Michelle Boateng at the Gateway Villiage Senior Living Community in Capitol Heights, the Prince George's County Police Department said.
A man fleeing the building told responding officers an active shooter was inside. About 45 minutes later, the department’s Emergency Services Team located Batson lying down in a hallway in the complex with a gun nearby.
Balston allegedly may have been in a dispute with Evans the day of the shooting over a violation notice, D.C. television station WUSA reported.
Police claimed Balston admitted to retrieving the gun from his unit, returning to the first floor of the senior living complex and shooting the the two 46-year-old victims.
Batson is charged with first-degree murder and was being held without bond.
