Michigan Man Sentenced For 7 years After Planning Mass Murders of Jews and LGBTQ Communities

Man sentenced for fixation in planning mass murder of gay and Jewish people
A 23-year-old Michigan man, who authorities said was obsessed with mass killings, was sentenced to seven years in prison on Thursday. He was found guilty of not only planning the crimes but also acquiring an arsenal in large quantities.
According to the statement released by the Department of Justice, Mack Davis had previously pleaded guilty to committing a hate crime in December. Authorities said he targeted members of the Jewish community and LGBTQ individuals.
Man Obsessed With Mass Murder Of Jews And Gays
During the investigation into Mack Davis, authorities traced his history of researching for planning these alleged mass killings. It was in July 2023 that the suspect searched online about mass killers, while he offered them tribute through different posts.
Additionally, his obsession with mass killings led him to write about them in journals as well as on several other unusual items in his home.
His writings expressed extreme hate towards the world and the people around him. He openly posted thoughts such as “I hate you all the same”. Some of his messages also indicated hostility toward LGBTQ individuals and Jewish people.
Michigan Suspect Build Arsenal To Fuel His Plans
Mack Davis’s obsession with mass murders became so strong that he eventually planned to commit one of his own. According to the court documents, he built an arsenal for the same, first creating a detailed list of weapons that could be used.
By June 2024, the suspect had created a massive armoury to carry out the attack. It included at least two firearms, multiple magazines, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a pair of crossbows and arrows, bomb-making materials, smoke grenades, tactical gear, and precision knives.

Reportedly, in one of his social media posts, Mack dropped a selfie of himself doing the N*** salute. He was also seen holding a copy of Adolf Hitler’s manifesto. The DOJ further revealed that the suspect was also in possession of an Israeli flag, which he had defiled by painting on it a ‘swastika’ symbol. He even wrote anti-semitic, ‘kill Jews’ messages all over it.
Meanwhile, in one of his knives, Mack Davis reportedly inscribed a hateful message and a slur for gays. As per authorities, he had aimed to target the headquarters of a political party in his plans, as well as a bar. He believed that these two places were likely to be inhabited by a lot of gay individuals.
Suspect Apprehended For Committing A Crime
In June 2024, authorities said they intercepted one of Davis’ alleged plans. He was arrested by Owosso police after he allegedly fired 60 shots into several properties in the neighborhood. The suspect also vandalized two cars in the area that belonged to individuals he knew were gay, spray-painting a slur on one of them.
The FBI Detroit Field Office issued a statement after the sentencing of Mack Davis. The office said, “There is no room for targeted hate crimes against any citizen on American soil, including in our community of Owosso.””
