On Jan. 25, family reported Daniel Brown, 35, missing after he was last seen on surveillance video leaving his Houston home two days earlier, KHOU reported.

On Feb. 15, investigators arrested Trevyon Tellis, 27, after learning Brown went to his home the night he disappeared.

According to court records, detectives found evidence at Tellis’ residence that allegedly shows Brown was fatally shot and his body disposed of following what they believe was an attempted robbery.

During questioning, Tellis allegedly admitted to investigators he was involved in Brown’s death but has refused to reveal what happened to the body, police said, according to KTRK-TV.

Tellis was being held on $200,000 bond.

Brown’s mother said her son, who was expecting a fourth child, was close to his alleged killer.

“There could not have been that much money. There could not have been enough money to take a person's life. Not your friend,” Alma Brown told KTRK-TV.
