Tennessee murder suspect arrested after six years on the run, officials said

A six-year investigation has resulted in the arrest of a man accused of killing another person in Hardeman County, Tennessee.

On Nov. 23, 2015, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation special agents responded to the 3000 block of Somerville Road in Hickory Valley, Tennessee, after a driver saw a person lying in a field off the road.

The man, later identified as Guy Williamson, 51, was dead from an apparent gunshot wound, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

During the investigation, agents developed information that identified Michael Hobson, 28, as the individual responsible, according to the bureau.

After consulting with the district attorney, an arrest warrant was issued for Hobson charging him with first-degree murder. Police did not say if Hobson knew the victim. They also didn't release a possible motive for the shooting.

On Dec. 15 , Hobson, who is currently jailed on an unrelated charge, was served into the Tipton County Jail on the new count. His bond was set at $500,000.
