Alleged drunk driver runs over, kills victim after argument over crash, police say

An Ohio woman argued with an alleged drunk driver, who then ran over and killed the victim, police say.

On April 9, police responded to a call for a possible shooting in Columbus, Ohio, authorities said.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found 25-year-old Makaela Ellis, who had been hit by a car, according to police. Ellis was in critical condition and taken to a local hospital, where she later died, police said.

Police said shots were fired after Ellis was hit by the car, but no one was hit by gunfire, as reported by 10TV.

Court documents state Ellis and 21-year-old Bria Henslee got into an argument after Ellis called out Henslee for driving while intoxicated and hitting cars in the area.

From there, Henslee got back into a vehicle and proceeded to hit Ellis, which pinned her between a building and the vehicle, authorities said and reported by local media. 

Henslee was still at the scene when police arrived and she was arrested. She was charged with murder, authorities said.

There was also a man with Henslee who has been charged with a weapons offense, police said. However, his name has not been released yet and will be released after additional questioning is completed by investigators.
