An investigation into a fatal shooting in Texas lead police to an ex-felon, who police accused of murder.

On May 22, Longview police responded to an area where gunshots were heard around 11:15 a.m., authorities said.

Once there, police said they found Brantravious Williams, 21, dead from a gunshot wound.

“Officers located a deceased adult male with a gunshot wound and discovered another subject drove to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," police announced.

Adam Tuan Nguyen, 21, was arrested by Longview police around 6:30 p.m. on May 22, police said.

Nguyen was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and tampering or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair.


Nguyen was free on bond when the alleged shooting happened, and he was also charged with bond forfeiture. His charges in that case stem from December 2019 accusations of possession of less than two ounces of marijuana and failure to identify as a fugitive with intent to give false information, authorities said.

Nguyen was also held on a charge of possession of between five and 50 pounds of marijuana. He also had a bond forfeiture on a charge of possession of between four and 400 grams of a controlled substance in Wichita County, according to authorities.

Nguyen remains in Gregg County Jail on more than $350,000 bond, police said.
