A teenager in Texas who was the subject of an AMBER Alert is now facing accusations of murdering a 21-year-old man whose body was found inside a car, according to authorities.

Around 10 a.m. on Aug. 29, police were called to a location in Garland regarding a male “possibly passed out in a vehicle,” the Garland Police Department said.

Once at the scene, officers found the male, later identified as Arturo Pena, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officials said Pena was reported missing to the Dallas Police Department on Aug. 27.

On Sept. 1, detectives identified 17-year-old Natalie Navarro and 21-year-old Yordy Martinez as suspects in Pena’s death.

An AMBER Alert was issued for Navarro that day and she was located an hour later and taken into custody, officials said.

Meanwhile, Martinez is still on the run and authorities said both Navarro and Martinez will be charged with murder.

Navarro was last seen on the afternoon of Aug. 31, and police believed they had reason to suspect the teenager was in danger and Martinez was her captor, KXAS reported.

Authorities said they are still determining a motive.

Garland Police Lt. Richard Moldonado told KXAS, "We hope to get more when we talk to Natalie to see exactly what was going on, if these persons knew each other, if they had a relationship, if there was a falling out."
