Reality show mogul Kris Jenner opened up about her friend Nicole Simpson, almost three decades after her unfortunate death in the documentary The Life and Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson.

The documentary attempts to share the viewpoint through which the socialite is viewed in popular culture. The Lifetime documentary claims to put forward "Nicole’s own narrative and voice....in one of the most notorious crimes and trials in history."

The project interviewed 50 of Simpson's close acquaintances, who opened up about Nicole Simpson as a person and the life she led with the footballer.

Nicole's dead body was found in Brentwood, California, at a home she shared with O.J. Simpson in June 1994, People reported. Ronald Goldman, Nicole's friend was also found dead in the same estate, the outlet reported. At the time of her death, Nicole had been separated and divorced from Simpson, after being married for seven years. They shared two children, a son named Justin and a daughter named Sydney.

OJ Simpson was soon arrested and underwent what came to be known as the "Trial of the Century."

In court, he was represented by Jenner's ex-husband, Robert Kardashian Sr. OJ Simpson was acquitted of all charges, but in 1997, Brown's family filed a civil lawsuit against him in which he was found to be liable for ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, her friend, the New York Times reported.

In 2007, OJ Simpson was arrested in Las Vegas for breaking into a hotel room at the Palace Station and stealing memorabilia at gunpoint, NBC reported. According to the outlet, he confessed to taking items in front of the officials but clarified that they were stolen from him and denied breaking into the room.

The prosecution tried him on 12 counts, and a Clark County jury found him guilty on all charges on October 3, 2008. The verdict came 13 years after he walked scot-free in the murder trial of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. He was sentenced to 33 years in prison, with a possibility of parole only after nine years. He remained incarcerated at Lovelock Correctional Center in Northern Nevada.

Multiple attempts for a new trial and to get the charges dropped were made, but all were unsuccessful.

After getting an early release in 2017, the former footballer and actor began living in Nevada. Simpson died on April 10, after a battle with metastatic prostate cancer, as reported by THR. The announcement was made by his family on X. “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace. -The Simpson Family”- the announcement read.

Jenner for years has been hounded by speculations that she and OJ allegdly had an affair, as reported by the Independent. In 2019, a news piece regarding the rumor was published on the anniversary of Nicole's death. During an episode of her show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she revealed her frustration with the speculation. “After 25 years, you’d think it just wouldn’t be a thing,” she said to Khloe at the time. “It’s just lie after lie after lie after lie, and it’s only so much that one human being can take.” It was indicated that she took legal steps against the publication.

“She loved me,” said their common friend Faye Resnick about Nicole. “She wanted me to be healthy.” Jenner got teary-eyed talking about Brown in the documentary. "You never get over losing a friend that way," Jenner, shared in her emotional confessional. The celebrity manager added how for 30 years, she has packed the emotions deep down inside, because of how much it bothers her to this day. "It's hard. [It's] one of the hardest days I've ever experienced," she said, Today reported.
