Bucket List Tragedy: Woman Records Final Moments of Fiancé Who Dove to Propose to Her Underwater
A couple's dream come true moment turned into a nightmare while holidaying in Tanzania. A viral video going around on X showcases the stunning proposal of Steven Weber to his partner, Kenesha Antoine, BBC reported.
Weber and Antoine, for the last few years, had been ticking items off their bucket list, by visiting the most unique destination all across the world, BBC reported. In 2019, they were staying in a submerged cabin at the Manta Resort, off Pemba Island in Tanzania.
Weber had taken his girlfriend to the destination keeping in mind a sweet surprise that he had planned for her, BBC reported. On the third day of their stay, when Antoine was in her room, surrounded by water, she suddenly saw a figure at the window. It was Weber who was diving under water, to ask Antoine an important question.
In this footage from 2019, Steven Weber is seen swimming down to his girlfriend, Kenesha Antoine, who was inside their underwater hotel room in Tanzania.

The video shows Weber pressing a handwritten note inside a ziplock on the window, LAD Bible reported. The note read, "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you. But… everything I love about you, I love more every day!" After a while, he flipped the note, and another message appeared- "Will you marry me?"
Thereafter, Weber pulled out a ring and began swimming to the surface, LADbible reported. Unfortunately, he never made it out of the waters and lost his life in the attempt to come out.
Antoine confirmed her partner's death in a Facebook post, "You never emerged from those depths, so you never got to hear my answer, “Yes! Yes! A million times, yes, I will marry you!!” We never got to embrace and celebrate the beginning of the rest of our lives together, as the best day of our lives turned into the worst, in the cruelest twist of fate imaginable. I will try to take solace in the fact that we enjoyed the most amazing bucket list experiences these past few days, and that we both were so happy and absolutely giddy with excitement in our final moments together."
Antoine professed her love for Weber in the post, "I will find you and marry you in the next lifetime, and the next, and the next, and the next... I love you so much, and I always will."
The Manta Resort confirmed that Weber died while trying to dive alone outside his underwater room, BBC reported. "It is with the deepest regret that we inform, that a fatal accident occurred at The Manta Resort on Thursday 19 September 2019," the resort said in a statement.
