A girlfriend's attempt to play hide and seek with her partner went horribly wrong, according to police. Sarah Boone from Florida allegedly caused her partner's death after zipping him up in a suitcase and forgetting to let him out, People reported.

The victim Jorge Torres, Jr., 42, was in a relationship with Boone. The entire ordeal was allegedly recorded on the woman's phone.

In the footage, Torres allegedly could be heard pleading with Boone to free him, while Boone laughs and accuses him of cheating on her, the outlet reported.

Investigators claimed that Torres Jr. got into the suitcase willingly, playing a game of hide-and-seek with his partner, WESH reported.

The woman then allegedly refused to unzip him, police said. When Torres Jr. asked her to open the suitcase, she allegedly accused him of cheating, People reported. “For everything you’ve done to me. [Expletive] you. Stupid,” she allegedly can be heard saying in the video. When he told her he couldn't breathe, she allegedly responded, “Yeah, that’s what you do when you choke me."

Boone allegedly then went to sleep while Torres Jr. was stuck in the suitcase, and when she woke up, he was dead, PEOPLE reported, citing police.

Police claimed that Torres Jr.'s death "was caused by Boone's criminal act" in the arrest affidavit, and she was charged with second-degree murder, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said at the time, People reported. She has pleaded not-guilty in the case.

The trial date has been pushed back several times because Boone has been frequently changing lawyers, according to WESH. She has already gone through seven attorneys, complaining that they failed to properly handle her case. Her most recent attorney was listed as Patricia Cashman.

“I don’t understand what it is that she has against me,” Boone reportedly told the judge. “I have told her from day one that her snotty attitude was inappropriate.”

Cashman claimed in court that she and her client were not on the same page with regards to the case, WESH reported. “She has walked out of the last two visits when I’ve tried to review things with her,” the attorney said.

Boone is set to go on trial for the murder case in October, the outlet reported.
