A young woman lost her life, allegedly at the hands of her violent boyfriend, who has been held as a suspect in the case, according to law enforcement officials in Ohio.

Raychel Sheridan was discovered dead by sanitation workers around 9:30 a.m. on June 26, in the southwest area of Canton, The New York Post reported.

Sheridan lived with her boyfriend, Sean Goe, in an apartment in the 4100 block of Orchard Dale Drive NW, Cleveland19 reported. Sheridan's mother had been trying to reach the victim, and requested authorities to conduct a welfare check on her.

Deputies reached the couple's apartment around 12:30 p.m. on June 25, Cleveland19 reported. The apartment door was open and nobody was inside, according to the authorities. Deputies found the scene suspicious and requested a search warrant.

While the search warrant was being processed, deputies reportedly located a maroon Jeep Liberty in the area, traveling on Guilford Ave NW, Cleveland19 reported. Deputies had earlier determined a similar vehicle was registered under Sheridan's name.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop and found Sean Goe inside the vehicle, The New York Post reported. The boyfriend fled on foot and ran into a thick forest, eluding deputies who were in pursuit, claimed Stark County Sheriff, George Maier.

Deputies were able to obtain the warrant and searched the couple's apartment, The New York Post reported. During the search, "evidence of foul play was discovered, and detectives determined that Sheridan was murdered inside of the apartment," the sheriff claimed.

The victim's cause of death has not been publicly disclosed, the New York Post reported.

Jennifer Yarnell, Sheridan's friend and the couple's neighbor, expressed her sadness at the situation. "This is unimaginable. She could have been so much more than this," Yarnell said, Cleveland19 reported.

Yarnell had witnessed the alleged voltile relationship between Sheridan and Goe, and urged Sheridan to leave Goe, Cleveland19 reported. “I told her more than once that this is not where she needed to be and that she needed to get away,” said Yarnell, the outlet reported.

Court documents show Goe allegedly had stolen a gun from a North Canton residence in April and used it to threaten Sheridan in May, Cleveland19 reported.

On June 26, Goe was arrested from a Canton homeless shelter on active warrants of burglary, grand theft of a firearm, and multiple misdemeanor domestic violence charges, the New York Post reported. At present, he is being held at the Stark County Jail. His bond has been set at $1 million.
