Marinette Police Department has arrested a woman for allegedly murdering a child under her care. As reported by People, Samantha Wishman initially informed the authorities that the boy had died after falling from the stairs, but soon a medical examiner's analysis revealed non-accidental trauma as the real cause of his death. Wishman's private messages regarding her boyfriend's child further shed light on her role, making her a person of interest in the case. She will now face charges related to first-degree reckless homicide and neglecting a child.

After calling the cops, Wishman called and told them that her boyfriend's son was unable to breathe. Once the dispatch reached the location, the woman told them that the boy had suffered injuries after falling down the stairs the night before. But further investigation into the matter shed light on the fact that the boy's father and Wishman had contrasting reactions to the situation. The father “seemed frantic and wanted to go to the hospital” while Wishman “seemed calm in the situation and was helping keep the other kids under control.”

Unfortunately, the boy succumbed to his wounds in the hospital. His body was immediately taken for an autopsy. Contrary to Wishman's claims, medical revealed that the boy had broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a concussion. He also had multiple bruises all over the head and body. All this led the examiner to the conclusion that blunt force injuries caused the boy's death, as opposed to a fall that Wishman had described as the cause of death. Dr. Kristen Iniguez, Director of the Marshfield Child Advocacy Center shared her findings in a statement. “In a review of [the boy’s] records, several elements are noted which bring into question the mechanism of a stairway fall as the cause for [the boy’s] spectrum of injuries and death," she said. "Many of these elements instead raise concern that [the boy’s] injuries were the result of non-accidental trauma.”

The police immediately initiated a probe and Wishman was on the list of suspects because of her previous statements to authorities. They accessed her phone records and found incriminating messages, where her intentions of hurting her boyfriend's children were clear. “I'm ready to hurt these mother f------ kids nobody f------ understands I can't breathe so this is so much harder now I'm having more problems breathing," she allegedly wrote in one text. “I been real dizzy I can’t breathe hardly it’s even harder with these f------ kids n [sic] nobody is goin' to take any of this serious until they walk into this house n [sic] find me passed tf [sic] out on the floor,” she wrote in another. “These mother f------  won’t f------ stop I’m ready to lose my shit [because] I can’t breathe I can’t yell so I’m just the joke around here.” Wishman is set to face charges in court after she was arrested for the alleged murder.
