YouTuber Uncovers the Truth Behind the ‘World’s Loneliest Home’ After a Night Inside
Three people who spent a night in the 'world's loneliest home' have finally cleared the air around the isolated house which is located on the secluded island of Elliðaey, just off the coast of Iceland. The house is at the center of several bizarre conspiracy theories, as per the LAD Bible. It was YouTuber, Ryan Trahan, who decided to visit and stay in the house to experience the 'aura' of the place up close and personal for his channel.
While mentioning some of the stories doing the rounds about the house in the video, the YouTuber shared that a popular belief is that a billionaire built the house to save himself from a zombie apocalypse. Another tale narrated by him claims that the residence was used by a religious cult.
Reaching the house was not at all easy for Trahan since he had to take multiple modes of transport to arrive at the so-called 'loneliest island in the world,' according to LAD Bible. Trahan took help from two locals, Bjarni Sigurdsson, and Ragnar, to complete his journey.
The trio used a small vessel, faced treacherous waters, and finally set foot on Elliðaey. To get to the house, the travelers had to climb up the side of the island with the help of a rope. The white-colored house was enveloped in grass, as seen in the video. Trahan showed his viewers how animals like sheep, puffins, and seals among others graze around the house, without any human interference.
According to the guestbook, Trahan was the 11,265th person to visit the island. In the video, the YouTuber showcased the interior of the house. It contained a cozy dining space and living room, where the trio enjoyed delicious meals cooked up by Sigurdsson. Ragnar further revealed that every item in the house needs to be carried up as no transportation is available in this remote location.
Trahan showed his viewers the attic-size room he was staying in the house. It was a huge space with seven beds. The following day Trahan asked the million-dollar question to Sigurdsson about the conspiracy theories regarding the house, who said, that they were not true. He shared that this big establishment was built in place of a smaller house that was used by bird scientists to study the exotic and rare puffins that lived on the island.
The Icelandic men shared that the pantry had enough food to last the trio for a whole week, implying that the management has facilities in place to take care of tourists. The house also has a workshop in the back, but Sigurdsson was informed by his superiors to quickly return with his mates because the sea was about to get choppy.
The video gained popularity on the internet and racked up 34 million views, while the comment section was filled with praise for the travelers. @abhradeepmandal6265 wrote, "It really felt like 3 guys met at a certain point with different nature, Ragnar being the most experienced, fearless and serious one, Bjarni being the funny and wholesome guy with cooking skills and Ryan the young protagonist full of hope and determination embarked on a journey/mission. Such a good storytelling man!"
