Woman Accused of Fatally Stabbing Her 10-Year-Old Sister

Kaneijah Zyir Bradley is accused of fatally stabbing her 10-year-old sister and then placing her body in the backyard of their home.

A North Carolina woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed her 10-year-old sister to death, according to authorities.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 17, deputies responded to a home in Enfield regarding a report of a missing 10-year-old child, according to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers learned the mother of the victim found the missing child in the backyard and the child appeared to be dead, authorities said.

Officials determined the child was stabbed multiple times and was deceased when they arrived at the scene.

Investigators believe the child was stabbed inside the residence and then her body was moved to the back of the house.

Police arrested the sister of the victim, 22-year-old Kaneijah Zyir Bradley, and charged her with murder, officials said.

She was booked into the Halifax County Detention Center and is being held without bond. She is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 25.

In a statement, Sheriff Tyree Davis said, “This is such a sad incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

The case remains under investigation and the motive for the stabbing is unclear.
