Around 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 20, police were called to an assault at a bus stop near the Lighthouse Hill apartment complex in Wilmington, according to the New Castle County Police Department.
At the scene, officers found the victim suffering from “multiple injuries to the upper body,” authorities said.
Police spoke with multiple witnesses, who claimed the suspect beat the victim with a baseball bat before running away.
The elderly victim was transported to the hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition, authorities said.
Murillo was booked into the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution and was being held on $90,000 bond.
He was charged with attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon, officials said.
