Amber Alert Issued After a Father Flees the Country With His Daughter After Killing His Wife

The authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department are on the lookout for a man who abducted his 4-year-old daughter after allegedly murdering his wife. The authorities have mentioned that the man had threatened to flee the country prior to the incident.

A country-wide amber alert has been issued to look for a man who has allegedly fled the county with his daughter after murdering his wife in South Los Angeles.

The man wanted for abduction and murder has been identified as a 40-year-old Ruben Fregoso, who has allegedly fled the country with his 4-year-old daughter, Dalez Fregoso. They were both last seen on the morning of May 24th, near Alsace Avenue and Ferndae Street in Los Angeles.

The investigation began on May 25, around 12:40 p.m., when the Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a welfare check in the 2600 block of Alsace Avenue in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Upon reaching the location, the responding officers found a woman inside the residence who appeared to have died a violent death, according to the authorities. Her husband, the 40-year-old man Ruben Fregoso, was identified as the person of interest in the murder by the police.

The California Highway Patrol issued an amber alert on the evening of May 25th, on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The 4-year-old girl has been described as three feet tall, weighing 45 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Fregoso has also been described as a five feet nine inches tall man, weighing around 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

The authorities have also mentioned that the pair was traveling in a white 2019 Land Rover Discovery, which was later found abandoned near the San Ysidro crossing at the US-Mexico border. According to the California Highway Patrol, the car had a California License plate which read 9DAW715.

Police said Fregoso previously made statements indicating his intent to flee the country. The man and the daughter of the couple are still missing, and the authorities have reason to believe that Fregoso and his daughter might be in Mexico currently.

The investigators in the case, however, have not released further details in the case related to the killing of the mother or the circumstances leading to her death. As the investigation is ongoing in the case, more details are yet to be shared by the authorities.

According to the reports of ABC Eyewitness, the neighbors said that the mother and the daughter were fixtures in the neighborhood, always friendly and eager to talk to a pet dog. “I am hoping that the baby didn’t see anything that could scar her for life. My prayers are just with the family,” said one of the neighbors, named Crrie Coleman. “She’s just a cute little kid, a sweetheart. The girl is just so sweet, so young,” Coleman added.
