Following his sentencing last Thursday, U.S. Attorney Timothy Courchaine said, “Ski Redfeather Johnson repeatedly preyed upon and stole the innocence of four children.” The attorney added, “This 28-year sentence reflects the relentless work of FBI Special Agents and Tohono O’odham Nation Tribal Police officers dedicated to protecting these children and bringing their perpetrator to justice.”

The FBI Phoenix Division’s Tucson Office conducted the investigation into Redfeather Johnson’s case, along with the Tohono O’odham Nation Police Department. In a statement, FBI Phoenix Special Agent in Charge Rebecca Day said, “This sentence underscores the severity of Ski Johnson’s crimes, and thanks to the courageous victim who came forward, he will spend the next 28 years in prison.”

“The FBI and our partners remain devoted to identifying, investigating, and holding accountable those who seek to harm our most vulnerable,” the federal agent added.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Johnson engaged in abusive sexual contact with four different underage victims between 2015 and 2020. The victims were all under the age of 12. He used the residences where he was living on the Tohono O’odham Nation to commit the crimes.

According to the release by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the minor victims were also enrolled members of the Tohono O’odham Nation along with Johnson. His prosecution was handled by the District of Arizona, Tucson, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
