An 18-year-old high school student who allegedly brought a gun onto an Arizona campus has been arrested.
According to Casa Grande police, school officials were told Kyren Lee Antone had brought a gun onto campus in his backpack.
School officials and security detained Antone and took his bookbag. When police arrived, they found a Glock handgun with an extended magazine and multiple rounds of ammunition.

“Chief McCrory praised the fast response of school officials and staff in responding to this situation and bringing a quick resolution to what could have resulted in a very serious situation,” the department in a news release, according to CBS 5.
Authorities say they don't have reason to believe the teen had planned to fire the gun on school grounds. They said it's unclear why he had it with him. Police say students were not in any immediate danger.
Antone is being housed in Pinal County jail for weapon misconduct.
