'Caught in the wrong place at the wrong time': Atlanta police arrest suspect in shooting of baby

A 6-month-old baby was shot while in a car in Atlanta and now police say they have arrested the suspected shooter.

Around 2:30 p.m., Atlanta police responded to the intersection of Anderson Avenue NW and Tiger Flowers Drive NW for a reported shooting. The infant — Grayson Matthew Fleming-Gray — was shot and killed while in a car, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.

Police said the shooting was a result of an altercation between two men, Fox 5 reported.

Fleming-Gray was shot during the crossfire while riding in a car as it drove past a grocery store.

On Jan. 25, Atlanta police said they arrested Dequasie Little in connection to the shooting. He was charged with aggravated assault and felony murder. Police say he is awaiting transport to the Fulton County jail.

“This little angel was caught in the wrong place at the wrong time and his beautiful life was taken from us too soon,” Family wrote on an Everloved fundraising page.

The page has raised roughly $18,000 as of Jan. 26.

Family noted Fleming-Gray lived with his single mother in Atlanta.

“Grayson was an incredibly joyous baby with an infectious smile who was deeply loved by all,” the page read.
