Barron Trump Helps Authorities Jail Russian Man Who Assaulted Woman on Video Call

Barron Trump reported witnessing an assault during a video call, which later contributed to a UK conviction.
A Russian man has been jailed for four years after Barron Trump alerted UK authorities about witnessing a woman being assaulted on a video call.
Matvei Rumiantsev, 23, was found guilty of assault causing actual bodily harm, according to court records.
He was sentenced to two years for assault and an additional two years for perverting the course of justice after contacting the victim from prison and asking her to drop the case against him.
Trump’s 999 Call Transcript
Trump contacted officers while living in the United States to report that his friend had been attacked in London in January 2025, the trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.
Prosecutors said Rumiantsev had been jealous of the woman’s friendship with Trump, according to the BBC.
Trump reportedly videocalled the victim on January 18, and after witnessing the brutal attack, immediately dialed 999.
“I’m calling from the U.S., uh I just got a call from a girl, you know, she’s getting beat up,” he said, according to the transcript of the call released by the Crown Prosecution Service.
When asked how he knew the woman, he said, “I don’t think these details matter, she’s getting beat up but OK fine, also I met her on social media, I don’t think that matters.”
“Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions?” the operator said.

A Tiny Interaction, A Big Difference
In May 2025, the U.S. president’s youngest son told authorities that what he witnessed was “very brief indeed but indeed prevalent.” He said his FaceTime call was answered by a shirtless man with dark hair.
“The camera was then flipped to the victim getting hit while crying, stating something in Russian. The guy had hung up. This whole interaction lasted five to seven seconds."
According to court documents, Rumiantsev and the victim were drinking together on the evening of January 17 and into the next morning.
The victim was on a FaceTime call with Barron Trump.
He allegedly hit the woman on January 18. When prosecutors asked Rumiantsev if he was jealous of the victim’s male friends, he said, “What I was really unhappy about was that she was frankly leading him (Trump) on.”
He added, “I am being portrayed as a jealous person who can lose his temper due to jealousy. I want to just make clear that her actions towards him was wrong and it was not fair.”
“I was jealous to some extent.”
Rumiantsev was cleared by the jury of r--- and intentional strangulation relating to the same date and another count of r--- and assault alleged to have occurred in November 2024.
