Two women were stabbed at a home in Boston and now police say a man will face murder charges for their deaths.
A dog was also hurt in the assault, according to police.
The Boston Police Department said one of the women died at the scene, while the other suffered serious injuries and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Officers arrived at the home shortly after 1 p.m. on May 2, police said.
The victims in the attack have not been identified.
NBC Boston reported that neighbors also saw an injured dog being taken out of the home by police.
Marcus Chavis, 34, was arrested and charged with two counts of alleged murder and one count of animal cruelty, police said.
Authorities said two children were also home at the time of the stabbings, but were uninjured. They were both brought to the hospital for evaluations, police said.
“I believe this is out of the ordinary for everyone around here right now,” neighbor Danny O'Donoghue told NBC Boston.
