Brothers Rush To Sister’s Apartment To Protect Her, Instead Get Killed By Her Boyfriend

Miami man arrested for killing girlfriend's brothers
Gianni Pierre, 28, and his younger brother, Jaheim, 23, rushed to their sister’s apartment in Miami to protect her from her boyfriend. However, instead, they were gunned down by the man.
The tragedy unfolded around noon on May 2. Their sister has been dating Antwan Carter, 31, for around four years. According to the Miami Herald, on Saturday, a small fight broke out in the apartment.
The Man Had A Previous History Of Domestic Violence

The brothers rushed to “look after her,” as there had been a previous report of domestic violence, said authorities. According to authorities, Jaheim got into an argument with his sister, and he struck Carter, who tried to come between them. Pierre and Jaheim quickly got embroiled in a fight with their sister’s boyfriend.
At that point, Carter allegedly left the apartment and went to his car. He shortly returned with a Glock 9mm handgun and yelled, “I bet one of you won’t open up.” The 31-year old first shot Pierre, who was sitting on a couch.
Carter then shot Jaheim, who charged toward his sister. The woman was covered in blood, and her brother was bleeding inside a closet. Gianni was rushed to the city’s Jackson Memorial Hospital. However, he died shortly after.
The sister told police later that Carter blamed her for how the situation unfolded. He reportedly told her, “See what you made me do.” When police arrived at the scene, he quickly fessed up, saying, “I am the one; I have the firearm,” according to a report by WPLG.

Carter Pleaded Not Guilty To The First-degree Murder Charges

Carter said that he left the apartment to get some “air.” Initially, he went to his car to get his wallet and keys. He also claimed that Pierre and Jaheim had “squared up with both fists in the air ready to fight again,” so he had to open fire.
The man was charged with first-degree murder. He appeared in court on May 4 and pleaded not guilty. Since first-degree murder is a capital felony in Florida, Carter might face the death penalty.
After cops searched the apartment where the incident happened, they found several projectiles and spent casings. Gina Kirk, a neighbor, told CBS News that there were a total of five gunshots heard.
“I woke from a dead sleep – five gunshots, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow – and then the door slammed underneath my balcony,” Kirk said.
