Two men broke into a home in California and assaulted a 9-year-old boy with autism as he slept in his bedroom, police say.
Around 2 a.m. on Nov. 29, authorities said police responded to Saint Louise Hospital following a report of the boy being assaulted.
According to police, two men broke into the home in Gilroy, California, and then assaulted the boy. From there, the men ran from the scene.
Police talked with the boy’s mother, who said she believes the man was Joseph Sanseverino, who she previously dated and still actually lived at the house, KRON 4 reported.
Since then, police said they have been searching for Sanseverino and the other man, who the mother identified as "Ethan."
Police continue to investigate and anyone with information is asked to contact police at (408) 846-0485. You can also remain anonymous with your tip by calling the Tip Line at (408) 846-0330.
