Man attempts to rape ex-girlfriend, she ends up robbing and assaulting him instead, police said

A California man attempted to rape an ex-girlfriend, but police say she escaped and came back later with another man to rob and assault her ex.

On Jan. 23, police say they received a call regarding a report of possible domestic violence at a residence in Newhall, California.

According to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Office, the suspect called the woman to meet around 7:30 p.m., The Signal reported.

The woman went to her ex’s house to meet up and =when she got into the house, he “attempted to forcefully have sexual relations with her,” The Signal stated.

During the attack, the man took money from the woman, police said.

The victim tried to leave the room several times, but the man prevented her from getting out. The man even grabbed a machete and stood in front of the doorway, officials said.

The woman escaped and got to her vehicle, police said.

Later, the victims returned to the house, this time with another man, officials said.

When she arrived, she began physically assaulting her ex-boyfriend and took money from his hands, police said. The other man forcibly started searching the ex for money, The Signal reported.

At the residence, police found the ex-boyfriend with injuries.

All three suspects were arrested, police said. The ex-boyfriend was charged with attempted rape, domestic assault, false imprisonment and robbery. The woman was charged with robbery and domestic assault and her male companion was charged with suspicion of robbery, officials said. The names of the people involved were not released.
