A 7-year-old was mauled to death by a Rottweiler in Virginia. Now, four people face criminal charges in connection to the incident.

This week, police announced the arrest of Stephen Kachmar, Penny Lee Bashlor, Brooks Floyd and Alicia Floyd in connection to the death of the child.

On Jan. 29, police in Waynesboro, Virginia, responded to a home where a 7-year-old girl was attacked and killed by a dog.

Police said they investigated and the arrests stem from the investigation.

The dog was taken by the police after the incident and placed in a local shelter, according to WHSV.

Penny Lee Bashlor is the victim’s grandmother and she was charged with murder, manslaughter and several other counts. Stephen Kachmar was also charged with the same counts. Both face up to 70 years in prison.

The victim’s parents, the Floyds, both face charges of cruelty/injure child and each face up to five years in prison.
