A 7-month-old was gunned down when someone shot into her dad’s car, and now police say they have caught a suspect.
On May 4, police in Toledo, Ohio, announced the arrest of Jadiah Carter, 22, in connection to the shooting death of 7-month-old Desire Hughes.
Toledo police responded to a hospital on April 27 for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they saw the child being treated for at least one gunshot wound. She later died from her injuries.
Hughes was in a vehicle driven by her father, who was grazed by a bullet, according to Toledo police.
The two were driving when occupants of an unknown vehicle started to fire at them, Toledo police said.
Investigators identified Carter as a suspect and he was arrested. Though, police have not said if the Hughes were the targets or the motive for the shooting.
Cater was charged with murder and he is being held in jail.
