Colorado Man Who ‘Took Matters Into His Own Hands’ During Family Dispute Convicted After Fatal Shooting

Colorado man convicted of murder after fatal shooting in 2025 case.
A man in Colorado has been sentenced to life in prison after a jury found him guilty of murder. The man allegedly fatally shot another man outside a home following what prosecutors described a “family disagreement.”
The confrontation began as a verbal and physical altercation between the two men that later escalated.
Following a week-long trial, Isaiah Loader, 34, from Colorado has been charged with murder. The victim has been identified as Vincent Ramirez, who was shot in 2025, according to authorities.
Following the jury verdict, Weld County District Judge Vincente Vigil immediately ordered Loader to serve a legally mandated sentence of life in a state correctional facility with the possibility of parole.

According to a press release from the Weld County District Attorney’s Office, officers with the Greeley Police Department responded to a home in the 3800 block of 7th Street Road at 2:45 a.m. on July 30, 2025 after receiving a report of shooting. The residence where the incident took place is located 55 miles north of Denver.
Upon arriving, first responders found a man, later identified as Ramirez, lying in the front yard suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid at the scene before emergency medical personnel arrived and transported the victim to North Colorado Medical Center for treatment. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Although Loader and Ramirez were not related, prosecutors said the shooting stemmed from a “family disagreement” that escalated into violence. Prosecutors said evidence provided at trial showed the confrontation began as a verbal and physical altercation before Loader left, armed himself, and returned to shoot Ramirez.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred outside the residence, where Ramirez was found in the yard after being struck by gunfire.
It was, however, not immediately clear what prompted the dispute.
“This was a horrible, senseless crime,” Deputy District Attorney Timothy McCormack said during the sentence hearing on April 28. “This could have been prevented, but instead, the defendant decided to take matters into his own hands and chose to go and get a gun after a verbal and physical altercation between him and the victim,” McCormack added.
