UK Criminal immigrant who was convicted for killing DHS employee was found dead at his cell
An immigrant from the UK , a 26-year-old man identified as Olaolukitan Adon-Abel, was found dead in his cell on April 17th, according to the authorities.
The authorities performed lifesaving measures on the convicted felon, but he was ultimately pronounced dead, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
Adon-Abel’s cause of death has not yet been officially determined, but the police have mentioned that they do not suspect foul play. The authorities have also stated that they will conduct an internal review of the matter as part of the investigation.
Olaolukitan Adon-Abel, a 26-year-old man from the United Kingdom, was naturalized while serving in the U.S. Navy, according to authorities. He is accused of fatally shooting and stabbing Lauren Bullis, a 40-year-old auditor with the Department of Homeland Security, as she walked her dog around 7 a.m. on April 13.
Authorities in DeKalb County said the incidents began hours earlier outside a Checkers restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road, where Prianna Weathers, 31, was shot and killed around 1 a.m.
Olaolukitan Adon-Abel then drove roughly 16 miles before he allegedly shot Tony Mathew, 49. Mathew, who was homeless, was sleeping outside a Kroger store in Brookhaven, GA, USA around 2 a.m.
Several hours later, Adon-Abel allegedly shot and stabbed Lauren Bullis roughly 15 miles away, authorities said.
According to a report filed by Associated Press, Adon-Abel’s roommate said that he got into an intense argument over the air conditioner in their home and stormed out before going on the killing spree. The accused felon became a naturalized citizen in 2022 while serving in the Navy and stationed in the San Diego area. He had a lengthy rap sheet before the heinous murders, according to the DHS secretary Markwayne Mullin.
“He has a prior criminal record, which includes convictions for sexual battery, battery against a police officer, obstruction, and assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism, and now stands accused of murdering DHS employee Lauren Bullis by shooting and stabbing while she was out walking her dog, said Mullin in a statement.
“These acts of pure evil have devastated our department, and our prayers are with the families of the victims,” he added. It wasn’t immediately clear if Adon-Abel’s convictions predated his arrival in the US.
