A man in Dallas is accused of murdering his stepfather during a dispute, police and local reports say.
Recently, police arrested 22-year-old De Jairron Cooper in connection to the case.
Around 3:40 a.m. on Sept. 16, Dallas police responded to a shooting on Terrell Street. When officers arrived, they found Adrian Cole, 50, dead near the front door. He had been shot multiple times.
Officials pronounced Cole dead at the scene, police said.
Cooper was Cole’s stepson and he left after the shooting. He later returned, holding a gun, according to Fox 4.
Cooper told police that his stepfather had shown up at the apartment overnight and started to bang on the door, according to the report. Cole and another person then got into an argument.
Then, Cooper shot Cole twice because he was being aggressive and grabbed the other person’s arm, according to Fox 4.
Police charged Cooper with murder, and he was booked into Dallas County jail.
