An Alabama Man Used a Dating App to Lure a Robbery Target. Then, He Fatally Shot Him in the Head.

An Alabama man recently was convicted of killing a man three years ago during a robbery gone wrong.

A jury in Mobile convicted Sabronte Rhodes, 46, for the fatal shooting of Johnny Soehkies, the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office said, WALA reported.

Soehkies’ body was found near a storm drain in October 2019. He had been shot in the head.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s office, Rhodes lured Soehkies with the dating app Grindr and then murdered him during the robbery attempt.

Investigators claimed Rhodes had a history of using the app to meet and rob victims.
