U.S. Marshals have arrested a man in connection to the double homicide of a woman and her nephew at a North Carolina day care.
On July 9, authorities took Marlon Tyrone Anderson, 46, into custody in Lexington and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, WBTV reported.
According to family, on June 2, the two victims, Sharon Chambers, 61, and 49-year-old Benny Sloane, Jr., were at the B&T Learning Center, located in a home in Kannapolis, North Carolina, preparing breakfasts for students.
Chamber’s daughter, who owns the center, found the pair dead from gunshot wounds they suffered shortly after 8 a.m., and investigators determined the crime was an act of domestic violence.

“We are thankful that the kids from daycare hadn’t got here,” Chamber’s brother-in-law, Willie Pore, told WBTV.
He added that students’ parents and other relatives of the victims were unharmed “by the grace of God” and “it could’ve been a lot worse.”
One next-door neighbor described Chambers as a pillar of the local community and said she helped people who were struggling with addiction.
“She cared about everybody’s kids, adults, whatever the situation is; she tried to help out and everybody knows her,” Quentin Watson said. “She will be missed.”
