The body of a German property broker was found dismembered inside a freezer in a house rented by a German friend in Thailand, according to reports.

The hacked-up remains belonging to Hans Peter Mack, 62, were recovered from the residence in Pattaya on July 10, the Pattayan News reported.

According to the outlet, a German friend of the victim rented the residence, which police zeroed in on after viewing surveillance video that showed a freezer on the back of a pickup truck.

In videos, a male reportedly can be seen transporting a freezer over 150 kilometers before arriving in Nong Prue.

Detectives later found Mack’s body in garbage bags in a blood-smeared freezer in the home. They also discovered an electric saw, ropes, food seals, bottles of drinking water, soda and beer, according to authorities.

As Front Page Detectives previously reported, Mack was reported missing by family on July 4. He lived with his 24-year-old Thai wife and had two sons from a previous relationship.

An official with the provincial police believes Mack was being extorted before his death and that 2 million baht was transferred out of the victim’s bank account, the Bangkok Post reported.
