A Man Kept His Dismembered Girlfriend In Coolers. After His Arrest, He Sexually Assaulted An Inmate Who Snitched.

A Michigan man pleaded no contest to charges he murdered and mutiltated his girlfriend and then sexually assaulted an inmate for talking to authorities about the case after his arrest, prosecutors announced.
Wade Allen, 39, was taken into custody on May 22, 2019, in connection with the death and dismemberment of his girlfriend, whose mutlilated remains were located in two coolers in his Sturgis apartment, according to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.
“While in jail, Allen spoke to his cellmates about having strangled his girlfriend to the point of death,” the attorney general said in a statement. “After finding out that the cellmates had passed this information onto the authorities, Allen sexually assaulted one of the inmates when they were re-housed together.”
Allen pleaded on Jan. 30 to one count each of second-degree homicide; attempted dismemberment and mutilation; and attempted criminal sexual conduct, third degree by force, according to officials.
“No sentence will be enough to overcome the grief of the victim’s family, or the anguish suffered by the victims, but hopefully today’s plea will allow the healing process to begin,” Nessel said.
Allen’s sentencing is scheduled for March 3.
