The shooting suspect was taken into custody the evening of the incident in Temple Hills and charged with first- and second-degree murder and other related charges.
Robert Ponder told WRC-TV his older sibling was a supervisor at the Dominos restaurant where the incident occurred and the father of two teenagers.
“That was the hardest thing, even when I got the call, was, how was I going to explain it to them,” Ponder noted.
“My brother’s life is gone,” he said. “And the person who took his life, essentially, you’re losing your life to the system, now.”
