Deputies with the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office took Rylen Quinn Svane-Morris, 26, into custody on the evening of Oct. 11, KEYT reported.
Svane-Morris is accused of killing 72-year-old Terry Wilson at a Santa Ynez home early on the morning of Oct. 8.
According to deputies, a stolen minivan linked to Wilson’s murder was also recovered.
Svane-Morris was booked into the Northern Branch jail without bail for the outstanding warrant.
He may also face additional charged in connection with the stolen vehicle in Santa Ynez, police said.
Authorities have not released details on the cause of Wilson’s death or a possible motive in the case.
According to KEYT, a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office said Svane-Morris had once been in a relationship with the victim’s daughter.
