Elderly White Man Left With Blood-Soaked Nose After Allegedly Using Racial Slur Against Black Man — Video Divides Social Media

A man was repeatedly punched and left with a blood-soaked nose after he allegedly said a racial slur in a convenience store.

A video circulating on social media showed an older gray-haired white man being repeatedly punched in the face by a Black man after allegedly calling him a racial slur, the Atlanta Black Star reported.

The altercation, which surfaced on April 24 on X, showed a white-haired man grabbing onto a candy counter inside a convenience store after being repeatedly struck.

He appeared shaken following the blows, as a person recording the video can be heard telling him, "Bet you wanna say that [slur] no more," the person said, adding, "You just called him a [slur]."

The person filming warned the white-haired man that approaching him would result in further violence.

As the white-haired man stabilized himself as drops of blood were visible on the floor, the person recording claimed the white-haired man had initiated the altercation by using the slur.

"You just started that s---, bro. That man ain't say nothing to you, bro," the recorder said. In response, the white man denied the accusations, alleging that the man who punched him "came up to me." However, the person recording maintained his account, repeatedly claiming that the man used the slur first.

The video divided social media users, with some defending the Black man who threw the punches and others condemning the violence.

"How do you feel proud to assault an old man. Even a dog can get mad and rage, f--- what he said, be a man have some emotional control, you only acted like this towards him because he looked like an easy opponent. B---- move," one user wrote.

"ok so does this mean white people can do this to you lot when you call white people crackers?" another user commented.

"He is racist but he is still an old man and as a strong young Black man could do some serious damage. Sometimes being physical is not the way to solve racism, you could lose your freedom and end up in prison," another user remarked.

Meanwhile, a fourth X user supported the black man, writing, "I mean if he actually antagonized and then assaulted that guy, then this is self defense in 4k. It’s just sad to see derogatory word make people feel empowered. But common sense isn’t so common anymore like common courtesy."

Another person wrote, "It’s just a word' a word that harmed millions of lives because they were treated like cattle or not even human yet you say it’s just a word to the same word that got drilled into black peoples skulls no matter where the f--- they were at because they were minding their own buzz."

The incident follows a similar case in Ohio earlier this month in which a Columbus florist was caught on video directing racial slurs and misogynistic remarks at an Uber driver

The video of the altercation was posted by the driver, Antonio Moss, on TikTok, in which Ray Valentine, the owner of Valentine Floral in Columbus, Ohio, could be seen yelling at the driver, Kimberly Moss, as she tried to return the flowers.

"That’s why you deliver for Uber b----," the florist told the driver, while repeatedly abusing her and using racial slurs.

The video quickly went viral across social media, with Valentine receiving harsh criticism for his remarks. He later issued an apology on Facebook, saying he is "not a racist person."

"I’m not making excuses; there is video of my bad choice in words, but this should not define me. I’m human, and I make mistakes. Today is a prime example," he wrote.
