83-year-old Man In Cuffs After Shooting His Elderly Wife To Death: Cops

An 83-year-old man is accused of shooting his elderly wife to death, according to police and media reports.

Around 1:30 p.m. on March 30, members of the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting incident in Prairieville, Louisiana. When deputies arrived, they found an elderly woman with a gunshot wound.

The victim’s name has not been released.

The woman was taken by helicopter to a hospital, but she died from her injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies arrested her husband, Marvin Stephens, 83, in connection to the incident, according to WAFB. He was charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.

Investigators have not said what led to the shooting.
