An elementary school employee in Oklahoma has been charged with assault after he allegedly threw a dodgeball at a student three times, according to authorities.
According to court records, a student at Carriage Hills Elementary in Lawton went to the principal after the male employee allegedly hit them three times; once in the leg, once in the back and once in the face, which knocked their glasses off, KSWO reported.
When talking with police, the student said they threw the dodgeball while playing a game and it bounced off another student and hit the employee.
The allegedly angered employee then threw the ball and hit the student, according to KSWO.
The student went to the principal’s office and told her what happened. The principal spoke with several other students, who also backed up the student's account, officials said.
Police interviewed the employee, who said he was sitting in the class when the student threw the ball at him and another teacher and wouldn’t apologize for it.

The employee said he then hit the student with the ball and asked if he should apologize for doing that and the student said yes, according to KSWO. He told the student that was how he and the other teacher felt.
The employee was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault and battery, officials said. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 10.
