Ex-FBI Agent Raises Ransom Question in Guthrie Case After New Video

Savannah Guthrie released a plea video message on social media, urging her followers to come forward with any information that could help law enforcement agencies.
The disappearance of Nancy Guthrie remains a chilling mystery, with investigators still scouting for solid leads. On February 10, Savannah Guthrie shared a plea video message on social media urging followers to come forward with information that could help law enforcement.
After analyzing the footage, former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent and hostage negotiator Jason Pack suggested the the video may signal that the family has already responded to a ransom communication, though no official confirmation exists.
“I think she has paid the ransom and is waiting to hear. She wants to make sure that if she has paid, and if they are in the process of moving her, people can look for any suspicious activities that pop up. I wouldn’t read too much into the fact that it was just her reading the note,” Pack said in a video on The Ingraham Angle.
Because it has been more than10 days since Guthrie’s disappearance, Pack said the public should consider other theories.
Jason Pack suggests the family might have paid ransom to Nancy Guthrie's abductors.
There’s a Lot Of Work Going On Behind the Scenes: Pack
Pack added that while the public is focused on ransom notes and kidnapping, investigators are examining alternative possibilities.
“Just because they’re working this one and this is in the public eye the most doesn’t mean they aren’t considering all these other things. They have a team dedicated to these alternative theories as well, trying to bring all that information back to that timeline, look at everybody’s alibi, and then, as the timeline closes, either vet people out or put people back in,” Peck said in the video.
The former agent said law enforcement is conducting extensive work outside public view.
“There’s a lot of work going on behind the scenes. We don’t know what the messages have been — we just know what we’ve learned publicly, right? Bits and pieces," Pack said.
What Savannah Said In the Video?
In a video shared on Instagram on February 10, Savannah Guthrie appeared without her siblings, Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie, for the first time. Instead of directly speaking to her mother’s abductors, she urged the public, including those outside Tuscan Ariz., to report anything relevant to authorities.
Savannah Guthrie pleaded with the public to help with the investigation.
“I wanted to just share a few thoughts as we enter into another week of this nightmare,” Savannah Guthrie said in the video. “I want to thank you all for the prayers and love that we have felt, including our mom. We believe that she is somehow feeling these prayers and God is lifting her even in this moment, in this darkest place.”
Savannah Guthrie said she believes her mother is still alive. “We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly to bring her home. I am asking you to report to law enforcement any strange things that you notice immediately. We are in an hour of desperation,” she said.
