Face-Tattooed Stranger Slashes Commuter in Midtown Subway in Manhattan, Police Say

Tattooed man slashes commuter on subway, NYPD says
Authorities are currently looking for a man with a face tattoo who remains on the run after slashing a commuter during a late-night fight inside a midtown subway station.
The attack happened just before 1 a.m. on May 15 inside the 49th Street station in Manhattan. Investigators have claimed that the victim is a 35-year-old man who got into a verbal dispute with a stranger moments before the violence broke out.
According to authorities, the suspect took out a box cutter and smashed the victim across the neck during the physical altercation. The two men did not know each other, and authorities are still investigating to determine what sparked the argument.
Despite bearing injuries, the wounded commuter managed to board a southbound Q train after the attack happened. Then he travelled to the 34th Street-Herald Square station, where he took help from officers assigned to a foot post.
Emergency crews took the victim to Bellevue Hospital. Police said he was listed in stable condition.

The attacker ran from the station on foot and had not been arrested several hours later, according to the police.
The officials have described the suspect as a man with a dark complexion, a ponytail, and noticeable facial tattoos. The image released by authorities shows him wearing a blue hoodie and white sneakers while carrying a black backpack.
Images also show the man with an untidy beard.
Law enforcement officials said the confrontation quickly escalated from a heated exchange into a violent assault. They claimed that the suspect used a cutting instrument during the attack that was later identified as a box cutter.
