Police say an Illinois man allegedly left his 9-month-old son home alone while he allegedly went out to rob a bank.
Around 10:45 a.m. on May 6, officers were called to a Huntington Bank in McHenry for a report of an armed robbery, according to the McHenry Police Department.
Law enforcement officials said Peter Sova , 36, walked into the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding money while brandishing what the teller believed was a handgun.
After receiving the cash, Sova fled the bank on foot, police said.
Shortly after receiving the bank robbery report, responding officers located Sova in a field that belonged to a church, and he was arrested without incident.
Police determined that Sova left his 9-month-old son home alone while he was committing the alleged crime.
