FBI Expands Search After Black Glove Found in Nancy Guthrie Case

No trace of Nancy Guthrie yet as investigations enter Day 10.

There has been a new update in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance case. Investigators have found a pair of black gloves near her home in Tucson, Arizona. This discovery has given investigators hope of obtaining DNA evidence.
Discovery of these gloves has given a new hope as it has been almost 15 days and so far there have been no arrests.
Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC host Savannah Guthrie has been missing from her house in Tucson, Arizona since Feb 1, 2026. She was reported missing after she missed some prior planned activities. Nancy was last seen at her residence in the Catalina Foothills area.
A pair of black gloves have been recovered from near Nancy Guthrie's home in Arizona.
Based on the evidence gathered so far and the direction of investigation, the FBI and the County Sheriff’s office believe that she was taken against her will. Authorities are now treating this as a case of abduction.
Savannah and her siblings have thanked everyone for support and are requesting people to share any information they have regarding the disappearance of their mother.
Evidence Recovered During Roadside Search
During an extensive search near and around Nancy Guthrie’s home, federal and local agents found a pair of black gloves. The item was found around 1.5 miles away from the residence and has been submitted for DNA testing. Authorities are now searching for evidence that could connect the gloves to the man seen in footage captured by cameras at Nancy Guthrie’s residence.
Though gloves have been submitted for DNA testing, there has been no evidence linking them to the suspect. In the video footage obtained, a man can be seen wearing dark gloves however, it has not yet been established whether the gloves are the same.
Broader Search Effort and Previous Leads
Since the beginning of the case, authorities have employed different tactics and methods to expand their search efforts. Early on in the investigation, the FBI had speculated that Nancy Guthrie had not walked out of the house, willingly. Considering this, the security footage from the Guthrie residence has been collected and is being investigated thoroughly. Similarly, the security footage from CCTV cameras on the street have also been taken in for investigation.
Authorities have been canvassing the area, searching roadways, and looking for any physical evidence that could provide clues about her whereabouts.
A few days back, officers from the county sheriff’s office were seen checking septic tanks too, implying authorities are looking into foul play too.
Family Appeals and Public Response
Savannah Guthrie, along with her sibling, has publicly pleaded for help to find her alive. The family is holding onto the hope that she is alive and well. A reward of $50,000 has also been announced for anyone giving credible information regarding the whereabouts of Nancy Guthrie.
To help, the family has released several pictures and videos of their mother in hopes that someone might recognize her.
